Zeta likely to cause more erosion on hard-hit Gulf beaches
Detailed Description
The USGS coastal change hazard forecast for Zeta on Oct. 27, 2020, shows extensive erosion is likely on sandy beaches and barrier islands. The inner strip shows areas where erosion at the base of the dune is very likely. The middle strip forecasts areas of overwash, with waves breaking over the dunes. The outer strip forecasts inundation, with dunes continuously submerged by ocean water and flooding behind the dune line.
