Hurricanes alter the coastal landscapes and ecosystems with storm surge, coastal erosion and inland flooding, leaving the infrastructure in coastal areas vulnerable to future storm damage. Supplemental funding activities focus on improving hazard planning and response for future hurricanes.

USGS recovery and rebuilding activities for specific hurricanes are below.
