The Uēkahuna tiltmeter (UWD) malfunctioned Friday March 21. UWD data was used to calculate likely windows of time for the next episode to begin. Data from Sandhill tiltmeter (SDH) is now being used with an adjusted model. View All Messages.

Episode 14 ended with the south fountain ceased erupting at 1:49 pm HST which was 11 minutes after the north vent fountaining stopped. View All Messages.

The north vent fountaining stopped at 8:30 am HST and the south vent fountains resume heights of 600-700 feet. View All Messages.

Fountains from the south vent dropped slightly to 500-600 feet high and the north vent began fountaining again at 8:27 am HST. North vent fountains are currently 100-200 feet high. View All Messages.

High fountains from the south vent increased to 500-700 feet at 7:46 am HST when the north vent quit fountaining. Lava floors now cover over 2/3 of the floor of Halema'uma'u crater. View All Messages.
