Episode 8 of the eruption of Halema'uma'u ended at 7:23 pm HST on February 4. The eruption began the previous night and lasted for about 21.5 hours. The north vent stopped erupting at about 7:05 followed by the south vent at 7:23 pm HST. View All Messages.

Episode 8 of the Halema'uma'u eruption began at 9:52 pm HST. Fountaining from the north vent rapidly increased to 50-80 feet high and is feeding a flow that is spreading rapidly on the crater floor. View All Messages.

Sporadic fountaining from the north vent began just around 7:15 pm HST on February 2. Spattering increased between 8:15 and 9:00 pm HST when steam obscured the vent. Inflation remains at the minimum needed for the start of a new episode. View All Messages.

Episode 7 of the ongoing Halemaʻumaʻu eruption abruptly stopped this morning January 28 at 10:47 am HST. Fountains from the south vent stopped at 10:43 followed by shutdown of the north vent at 10:47. Episode 7 lasted just over 16 hours. View All Messages.

Lava fountains 80-120 feet high continue from both the north and south vents within Halemaʻumaʻu crater this morning at 5:40 am HST January 28. Lava flows fed by the fountains cover more than half of Halemaʻumaʻu crater floor. View All Messages.
