Did you know that the Floridan aquifer provides nearly all (90%) of the freshwater used by Floridians? Although expansive and complex, the aquifer is not an infinite source. We’re partnering with St. Johns River Water Management District to share simple water conservation tips so we can ensure future generations have access to clean, fresh water.

DYK? The District and Melbourne-Tillman Water Control District partnered on the C-1 Rediversion Project that redirects stormwater to a retention area, away from the Indian River Lagoon. Through the Sawgrass Lake Water Management Area, a natural filtration system, we’re treating water and reducing nutrients before it reaches the St. Johns River.
