Mapping, Remote Sensing, and Geospatial Data
The data collected and the techniques used by USGS scientists should conform to or reference national and international standards and protocols if they exist and when they are relevant and appropriate. For datasets of a given type, and if national or international metadata standards exist, the data are indexed with metadata that facilitates access and integration.
Results from a weekly-resolved sediment trap time series (2008–2014) in the northern Gulf of Mexico demonstrate that 92% of Globorotalia truncatulinoides flux occurs in winter (January, February, and March), and that encrusted and non-encrusted individuals represent calcification in distinct depth habitats.
Time-series coral-cover data from Hawaii, Florida, Mo’orea, and the Virgin Islands.
3DEP - FY15 BAA Project List
3DEP - FY16 BAA Project List
Dataset contains projected future wave-driven flooding depths on Roi-Namur Island on Kwajalein Atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands for a range of climate-change scenarios.
Baseline Coastal Oblique Aerial Photographs Collected from Dauphin Island, Alabama, to Breton Island, Louisiana, July 26–27, 2007
Oblique aerial photographic survey flown July 26–27, 2007, from Dauphin Island, Alabama, to Breton Island, Louisiana, aboard an aircraft at an altitude of 500 feet (152 meters) and approximately 1,200 feet (366 meters) offshore to collect baseline data.
Archive of Digitized Analog Boomer Seismic-Reflection Data Collected During U.S. Geological Survey Cruises Erda 92-2 and Erda 92-4 in Mississippi Sound, June and August 1992
Archive of HRSP profiles annotated with header information, and converted SEG-Y files. Data collection dates and locations: June 1990 from waterbodies surrounding Grand, Cat, and Horn Islands; August 1990 off the coast of Mississippi and Alabama and between Horn and Petit Bois Islands.
Water level and velocity measurements from the 2012 University of Western Australia Fringing Reef Experiment
This data release contains water level and velocity measurements from wave runup experiments performed in a laboratory flume setting.
3D Elevation Program (3DEP) Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) 2018 Awards
Microfossil (benthic foraminifera) and coordinate/elevation data were obtained from sediments collected in the coastal zones of Mississippi and Alabama, including marsh and estuarine environments of eastern Mississippi Sound and Mobile Bay, in order to develop a census for coastal environments and to aid in paleoenvironmental reconstruction.
Dataset for Reproductive success and contaminant associations in tree swallows (Tachnycineta bicolor) nesting in the U.S. and Binational Great Lakes' Areas of Concern
During 2010-2014, tree swallow (Tachycineta bicolor) reproductive success was monitored at 68 sites across all 5 Great Lakes, including 58 sites located within Great Lakes Areas of concern (AOCs) and 10 non-AOCs. Sample eggs were collected from tree swallow clutches and analyzed for contaminants
The National Digital Catalog, hosted on the USGS ScienceBase data infrastructure, serves as a repository for metadata describing geoscience assets preserved by USGS and state geological surveys. Web links, access instructions, and uploaded files provide direct access to the digital and physical resources for scientific investigations.
