2015 Sonora Mud Turtles
Montezuma Well is an unusual fishless desert wetland in central Arizona. Water in the Well is naturally enriched with >100 g/L dissolved geogenic arsenic (As) and supports a relatively simple aquatic desert food web with several endemic invertebrate species. Previous studies of As among various environmental compartments and organisms in Montezuma Well have not included turtles despite their poten
Data Release for Replicate amphibian swab and standard dilution of artificial DNA data to assess qPCR and sampling detection error for Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis.
We generated a data set from by collecting duplicate swabs from all amphibian individuals sampled at 5 sites (96 individuals) and analyzed these duplicate swabs running 3 subsamples of the extracted DNA in separate qPCR reactions. The resulting data set included 2 swabs per individual with 1 qPCR result and a 2nd swab with 3 qPCR results for detection of Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd) DNA. We
Sea-level rise and high tide flooding inundation probability and depth statistics at Big Cypress National Preserve, Florida
This dataset includes elevation-based probability and depth statistics for estimating inundation under various sea-level rise and high tide flooding scenarios in and around the National Park Service’s Big Cypress National Preserve. For information on the digital elevation model (DEM) source used to develop these datasets refer to the corresponding spatial metadata file (Danielson and others, 2023)
Plankton biodiversity estimates from the Pliocene of North Atlantic DSDP Sites 552 and 606
Biodiversity metrics for Pliocene time series at DSDP Sites 552A and 606. Includes sample designation, depth in core, age, February, August, and mean annual sea surface temperature. Includes species richness
Alkenone temperature estimates from the Miocene and Pliocene of SE Virginia
Alkenone samples collected during September 2023 from the Farm Road, Rushmere and Pipsico localities on the James River in SE Virginia.
Data to assess silver and bighead carp pool to pool movements from 2012 through 2019 in the Illinois River, USA through Bayesian multistate transition models (ver. 2.0, June 2024)
The dataset and accompanying analysis scripts accompany the article "Bayesian multistate models allow incorporation of spatial dynamics to improve invasive species management". The data are summarized detections from acoustic telemetry receivers (69 KHz) from 353 silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) and 170 bighead carp (H. nobilis) surgically implanted with transmitters in the Illinois River
Oceanographic, water-quality, bathymetric, and discharge data from Whales Tail Marsh tidal creeks, South San Francisco Bay, California, 2021-2023
The U.S. Geological Survey Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center made observations of hydrodynamics, water quality, and sediment transport in Whales Tail South Marsh in the Eden Landing Ecological Reserve in Alameda County, California during summer 2021 and winter 2021-2022. Details on station location, instrumentation, and measured variables are included in the metadata for each data type. Ba
Datasets documenting late Pleistocene faulting in the Pondosa fault zone, Pit River Region, Northeastern California
These datasets provide bedrock mapping and geochemistry, low-temperature thermochronology, remotely mapped lineaments, field observations of interpreted faults, and structure from motion models in the Pit River Region of northeastern California. The bedrock mapping datasets contain bedding orientations and field rock descriptions and associated geochemistry and 40Ar/39Ar data for a limited number
Earthquake geology inputs for the National Seismic Hazard Model (NSHM) 2023 (central and eastern United States), version 1.0
This Data Release contains three related databases for the Central and Eastern United States: 1) A fault sections database ("NSHM2023_FaultSections_CEUS_v1"), which depicts the geometry of faults capable of hosting independent earthquakes, 2) A fault zone polygon database ("NSHM2023_FaultPolygons_CEUS_v1"), which depicts the geometry of distributed fault zones capable of hosting repeated large mag
Datasets documenting limited evidence of Late Pleistocene tectonic surface deformation in the Eastern Tennessee Seismic Zone, Tennessee, USA
These datasets provide lineament mapping, catchment-averaged metrics of hypsometry and channel steepness, field observations, and a structure from motion model and orthomosiac photograph of sites in the Eastern Tennessee seismic zone in eastern Tennessee, USA. The lineament mapping contains linework of possible neotectonic features mapped from 1-m lidar data. Catchment-averaged metric of hypsometr
Datasets documenting lineament mapping and neotectonic observations in northern New Mexico
These datasets provide remotely mapped lineaments and neotectonic observations in northern New Mexico, based on 1-m lidar and satellite imagery data. Some lineaments are interpreted to be Quaternary-active faults, whereas others are interpreted to be older bedrock faults with no evidence for Quaternary movement. Simplified fault traces for interpreted Quaternary-active faults are provided for seis
Datasets documenting neotectonic mapping of Puerto Rico
This data release documents neotectonic mapping of fault-related features on high-resolution lidar-derived topography, data documenting an exposure of the South Lajas fault, and summary information for active and potentially active Quaternary faults on the island of Puerto Rico. The data documenting the exposure of the South Lajas fault include detailed unit descriptions, radiocarbon sample descri
