Data describing vulnerability of Pacific salmon to invasion of northern pike (Esox lucius) in southcentral Alaska, 2017-2019

The shapefile contains the data necessary to recreate the analyses used in Jalbert et al., in review, Vulnerability of Pacific salmon to invasion of northern pike (Esox lucius) in southcentral Alaska. Specifically, users will be able to view 1) intrinsic potential model calculations for 5 Pacific salmonids (Chinook, chum, pink, sockeye, and coho salmon) and northern pike and 2) all parent nodes of

Sagebrush (Artemisia spp.) scale of effect for Greater Sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) population trends in southwest Wyoming, USA 2003-2019

The distance within which populations respond to features in a landscape (scale of effect) can indicate how disturbance and management may affect wildlife. Using annual counts of male Greater Sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) attending 584 leks in southwest Wyoming (2003-2019) and estimates of sagebrush cover from the Rangeland Condition Monitoring Assessment and Projection (RCMAP), we used

PFAS, pesticide, and pharmaceutical concentrations in the Bronx River, New York, 2019 (ver. 1.1, January 2023)

This U.S. Geological Survey Data Release provides surface-water and bed sediment quality data at the Bronx River, New York, 2019. The data were collected with support from the Urban Waters Federal Partnership (UWFP) and others. Surface-water samples were collected at six locations along the Bronx River and analyzed for poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), pharmaceuticals, and pesticides. Wa

Emerging contaminant data at wastewater treatment facilities, municipal water supplies, surface water and lake sites in the northeastern United States, 2009-2018 (ver. 1.1, January 2023)

Over 300 samples were collected in New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts from wastewater treatment facilities (20 locations), drinking water facilities (9 locations), streams (53 locations), lakes (2 locations), a bay (1 location), and a POCIS (Polar Organic Chemical Integrative Sampler) blank sample between April 2009 and October 2018. This data release provides chemistry data for over 400 analyt

Total mercury, bulk density, percent organic matter, and percent organic carbon measured in permafrost cores from the interior and northern slope of Alaska and previously published studies

This data release contains two datasets (see child items below). The first dataset, "MasterDB-csv-published-final.csv", includes 11,000 published measurements of sediment total mercury (STHg, nanograms per gram of soil, dry), bulk density (BD, grams per cm3 of soil, dry), percent of soil organic matter (%OM, loss on ignition, LOI), percent of soil organic carbon (%SOC, calculated using

Water quality sites indexed to NHDPlus v2.1 flowlines for the 2012 and the 2017 periods of the U.S. Geological Survey's Surface Water Status and Trends project

This data release provides a list of 2,304 water-quality sampling sites indexed to NHDPlus v2.1 flowlines along with the verified ComIDs. ComIDs are the unique identifiers for NHDPlus flowlines and allow the sites to be joined to ancillary and watershed information from other sources published for that purpose. The sites include those assembled for the period 1972-2012 by the U.S. Geological Surve

Basin boundaries in shapefile format for study sites of the USGS Surface Water Trends project

This product contains basin boundaries in shapefile format for study sites of the USGS Surface Water Trends project. These include sites where water quality information was collected by both USGS and non-USGS agencies. The data are posted as a single shapefile with separate polygons for each site.

Changes in imperviousness for U.S. urban areas, 1974-2012

This product consists of two sets of imperviousness calculations for 3,535 urban areas and urban clusters in the conterminous United States. Imperviousness is given as the percent of the area covered by impervious surfaces, such as roads, buildings, or parking lots. One set of calculations is for the time periods 2001, 2006, and 2011, based on the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Land Cover

Peak-Flow Frequency Analysis for U.S. Geological Survey Streamgage 05481510 Bluff Creek at Pilot Mound, Iowa, in the Des Moines River Basin, Iowa, Based on Data Through Water Year 2021

This data release presents a peak-flow frequency analysis for U.S. Geological Survey streamgage 05481510 Bluff Creek at Pilot Mound, Iowa. The annual peak-flow record at this streamgage consists of both a discrete crest-stage period and a continuous partial-record period. The streamgage, which is in the Des Moines River Basin, is located on 130th Street in Pilot Mound, Iowa. Drainage area at the s

Pesticide Concentrations in American Bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus) Tadpoles Collected from Ponds and Reservoirs near Mead, Nebraska

To evaluate the potential uptake and accumulation of pesticides in amphibians, American bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus) tadpoles were collected from surface water sites (four ponds and one reservoir) in 2021 near Mead, Nebraska. Sites were located in the landscape surrounding the AltEn ethanol plant, a plant which had previously received pesticide treated (coated) seeds. Tadpoles were collected

Fish, amphibian, and conductance data from Panacea Unit, St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, FL, 2009-2016

These data are meant to support a publication "Disentangling direct and indirect effects of extreme events on coastal wetland communities" in the Journal of Animal Ecology. This dataset contains both amphibian and fish observations based on our use of plastic minnow traps. Additionally we present (specific) conductance values observed during our trapping periods.

Zebra anthrax carcass site pathogen and soil data from Namibia, 2010-2021

Datasets collected from monitored zebra anthrax carcass sites in Etosha National Park, Namibia, 2010-2021. One data file describes the anthrax mortality, soil characterization of the carcass sites and details on the types and timing of different sampling efforts at these sites. The other data file is counts of Bacillus anthracis spores in surface soils collected annually at these carcass sites.
