The USGS Core Library and Data Center web application enables users to search for and access digital images of rock samples primarily collected on the NNSS. Users can search for rock-sample images by specific NNSS area and site name.

Two continuous streamgages were installed in September 2019 during the first phase of this project and are currently in operation. Additional streamgages were installed in August 2020 and September 2021, followed by the installation of two additional streamgages in April 2024. These streamgages provide the Blackfeet Water Department and others with important water quantity information.

While most of the residents of the Blackfeet Reservation rely on groundwater for domestic, stock, and other uses, little is known about the quantity and quality of the groundwater. The initial phase of the groundwater investigation includes an inventory of existing wells and springs on the reservation. This is the first step to a groundwater resources assessment on the Blackfeet Reservation.

Between 3 to 9 inches of rain fell within 48 hours across the state of Vermont over four days in July 2023 causing significant flooding and millions of dollars in damage. The high amount of rain caused several rivers to peak at record levels, in some cases exceeding records set during Tropical Storm Irene in 2011. This dashboard compares the high-water marks of the two storms.

The PeakFQ application performs peak-flow frequency analysis to evaluate flood frequency on rivers and streams.

Intro

The Fairfax Water Quality Dashboard provides access to water quality data from 6 intensive monitoring stations and 15 trend monitoring stations in Fairfax County.

The Hampton Roads Water Quality Dashboard displays data from 12 water-quality monitoring stations across the cities of Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach. This application provides access to current conditions at each monitoring station and visualize timeseries plots for continuously monitored parameters collected at each monitoring stations.

The USGS-DOE Cooperative Studies and Groundwater Monitoring in Nevada web application provides an interactive and easy-to-use interface to access groundwater levels, groundwater withdrawal, and water-temperature data for wells on and adjacent to the NNSS.

To understand the contamination caused by historic mining in California, researchers sampled sediment, water, and biota (animals) during the years 1999–2004 and 2011–2012. From the data collected, a set of interactive maps were produced. The maps, along with the data release and introductory video, explain the results of the research.

The Landsat Reprocessing Application allows you to discover scene and tile products that have been changed by reprocessing.

This application provides access to estimates of depth-to-water and the water-table elevation for the Portland, Oregon, metropolitan area.
