The EarthExplorer (EE) user interface is an online search, discovery, and ordering tool developed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). EE supports the searching of satellite, aircraft, and other remote sensing inventories through interactive and textual-based query capabilities.

This Landsat Science Team Publications Search tool allows searching the journal articles, book sections, reports, and conference presentations published by Landsat Science team members since 1996. This information is updated quarterly, or as needed. 

Pennsylvania Groundwater Watch

Pennsylvania Groundwater Watch provides access to groundwater level data from 108 sites in the USGS Active Groundwater Level Network for Adams, Chester, Montgomery, Philadelphia, and Pike Counties. 

Determining High Groundwater Levels in Massachusetts

A method (commonly referred to as the Frimpter method) was developed in early 1980’s to estimate probable high groundwater levels across Massachusetts. The map and table on the web page linked above provide information on wells in the Massachusetts Observation-Well Network which have been used as index wells.

Explore and Request Data from the BBL

Geonarrative: Nontidal Network Mapper

The Nontidal Network Mapper geonarrative is a data-driven, interactive narrative that shares the short-term water-year nutrient and suspended-sediment load and trend results for the Chesapeake Bay Program’s non-tidal network (NTN). The mapper provides the primary findings for nitrogen, phosphorus and suspended-sediment trends, and gives the user tools to further examine results.

Metadata Parser (MP) is a metadata validation tool and service that checks your XML, SGML, or TSV (tab-separated values) against the FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata.

PAD-US Data Explorer

Administered by the U.S. Geological Survey Gap Analysis Project, the Protected Areas Database of the United States (PAD-US) is the nation’s official inventory of public open space and private protected areas. The lands included in PAD-US are assigned conservation status codes that both denote the level of biodiversity preservation and indicate other natural, recreational and cultural uses.

U.S. Geological Survey COVID-19 Wastewater Surveillance

USGS, as part of the National Wastewater Surveillance System, designed and implemented high-frequency sampling of wastewater across six states throughout September 2021, to support tracking of potential increases in COVID-19 infections in communities. COVID-19 viral loads were determined for each sample with the goal of delivering results to the CDC within three days of sampling.

USGS scientists published a storymap explaining the impacts of sea-level rise on liquefaction severity around the San Francisco Bay Area, California for the magnitude 7.0 ‘HayWired’ earthquake scenario along the Hayward Fault.
