Sagebrush Steppe Stabilization and Rehabilitation - Story Map

Learn how the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) uses data and tools to facilitate the restoration and management of post-fire landscapes. This Story Map includes examples from fire sites within the Great Basin of the western U.S.

Mississippi Embayment Aquifer System Regional Groundwater Availability Study

The US Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting large scale multidisciplinary regional studies of groundwater availability for the Nation. Studies comprise individual assessments, like the Mississippi embayment, of regional groundwater flow systems that cover a variety of hydrogeologic terrains and are used to develop a comprehensive regional and national perspective.

Mississippi Alluvial Plain (MAP) Regional Water Availability Study

The Mississippi Alluvial Plain (MAP) has become one of the most important agricultural regions in the US, and it relies heavily on a groundwater system that is poorly understood and shows signs of substantial change.

Pennsylvania Drought Condition Web Tool

The Pennsylvania Drought Condition Web Tool shows the current drought status for each county and hydrologic conditions for precipitation, streamflow, groundwater levels, and Palmer Drought Index used by PADEP for drought monitoring.

Coastal Wetlands Geonarrative

This geonarrative provides information about the importance and vulnerability of coastal wetlands and describes USGS Coastal and Marine Hazards and Resources Program research and partnerships to produce scientific information about wetland vulnerability to coastal hazards, such as storms and sea level rise, and provides critical wetland data to stakeholders and partners.

Earth Observing Satellites Online Compendium

The Earth Observing Satellites Online Compendium contains details about past, present and future Earth observing satellites and the sensors they carry. This information compiled by staff at the USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Intermountain West Seamless Geologic Map Explorer

The Intermountain West Seamless Geologic Map Explorer is an interactive mapping application that hosts surficial and bedrock geologic data layers for a transect from the Rio Grande rift to the Basin and Range.

USGS Upper Klamath Basin Well Mapper

This mapper identifies wells that are monitored in the Upper Klamath Basin Oregon and California by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Oregon Water Resources Department (OWRD), and California Department of Water Resources (CDWR). This web page provides access to current and historic groundwater-level data collected by those agencies, as well as water-level graphs and maps.

USGS Trail Data Portal

Do we have your trails? The USGS Trail Data Portal allows land managers to submit their trail data for potential inclusion into the nationwide trails dataset. The dataset must have at least 50 miles of trails, be in the public domain, and pass a data review to be included. Email trails@usgs.gov for more information.

TRAILS – Trail Routing, Analysis, and Information Linkage System

TRAILS – Trail Routing, Analysis, and Information Linkage System is a trail planning and collaboration tool that utilizes geospatial analysis to determine potential routes for new trail connections or to reroute an existing trail.

Transboundary Watersheds Geonarrative

Explore the geonarrative highlighting USGS research activities in transboundary watersheds in the northwest. The USGS is establishing baseline water quality conditions in rivers that cross the US-Canadian border.

USGS Trails Explorer

The USGS Trails Explorer visualizes the current distribution of aggregated trails.
