Map of the Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center (NE CASC) region and consortium members. The NE CASC serves the states Connecticut, Delaware, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont, and West Virginia. The NE CASC consortium includes the University of Massachusetts - Amherst (Host), College of Menominee Nation, Columbia University, Cornell University, Michigan State University, Woodwell Climate Research Center, University of Missouri, University of Wisconsin, University of Vermont, and U.S. Forest Service Northern Research Station. Note: The footprint of the NE CASC has been split. States in gray represent the newly formed Midwest CASC, and states in purple represent the updated NE CASC footprint. All NE CASC consortium members in the MW CASC footprint remain part of the NE CASC. Click to enlarge.

The Northeast (NE) CASC is hosted by the University of Massachusetts Amherst and includes academic consortium institutions throughout the region. The consortium works closely with USGS partners to provide deep and diverse resources for successfully meeting the specific needs for climate impact science assessment, education, and stakeholder outreach throughout the region.

The NE CASC team boasts broad geographic and technical expertise on diverse topics, ranging from atmospheric processes to ecological species interactions. They use interdisciplinary science to explore the interface between Earth, natural, and human systems and use this information to inform partnerships with resource management agencies on climate adaptation initiatives.

To facilitate communication and collaboration with Tribal Nations in the region, the Northeast CASC is joined by a Bureau of Indian Affairs Tribal Resilience Liaison
