NORTHERN PART OF THE NORTH CASCADES NATIONAL PARK, WASHINGTON.
The mineral potential of the northern part of the North Cascades National Park in Washington was evaluated by a detailed geochemical survey and by examination of all known mining claims in the area. It was concluded that this area offers little or no promise for the occurrence of mineral or energy resources. Placer deposits of gold are found in several areas in the North Cascades Mountains, but little gold has been reported from streams within the northern part of the park.
