Alex Katz
My work focuses on the accuracy of Lidar data and its derivatives that are published on The National Map. Utilizing the USGS Lidar Base Specification, I ensure the quality of our data and help produce elevation maps and Lidar Point Cloud (LPC) files.
Alex Katz is a cartographer at the NGTOC at the Denver Federal Center. Alex received a degree in Land Use/GIS and a minor in Environmental Science from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Since joining the USGS in May of 2016, Alex has devoted his career to studying Lidar and Lidar derived products and specializes in elevation mapping. Presently, his research focuses on The National Map 3-D Elevation Program.
