Andrew Farmer
Andrew Farmer is an Electronics Technician Specialist in Marine Instrumentation at the St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Andrew specializes in brings a diverse background of engineering/electronics and marine science to the Marine Operations Group. He has been functionally involved in all aspects of the services we provide to the Center. As part of the Dive Team, he works with our groups to assist in coral surveys and corals coring, drilled underwater sampling wells, and perform instrumentation swaps. He has worked with PIs to collect sediments through grab samples and vibra cores; performed single-beam, multibeam, seismic and GPS surveys. Peripherally to the services provided in the field, he is well versed in our data processing software packages and techniques, the machine shop equipment, and our fleet of vessels. He is also highly knowledgeable in contractor services such as electrical, plumbing, and general construction.
