Christian G. Schmidt
Christian Schmidt is the Water Resources Research Act Program Coordinator for the USGS Water Resources Mission Area.
After spending 9 years in various science and senior management positions with the Montana Departments of Agriculture and Environmental Quality in Helena, Christian began his USGS career in 2016 as Associate Director at the Idaho Water Science Center in Boise, Idaho. In 2020 and 2021, he was on temporary assignment in the USGS Director’s Office as Chief of Staff to Director Applegate and Senior Program Analyst to the Chief Scientist. Since early 2022, he has worked with the Water Mission Area Office of Planning and Programming as well as the USGS Office of Administration.
