Christie A Hegermiller, Ph.D

I am a WHOI/USGS postdoctoral scholar motivated to improve our physics-based understanding of coastal systems over both short (e.g., tidal) and long (e.g., climate change) time scales.

With the goal of providing meaningful and useful information to coastal planners and policymakers, my work focuses on 1) open coastal change (e.g., erosion, accretion, and breaching) associated with past, present, and future wave conditions, 2) transport of salt and sediment in estuarine environments, and 3) bedform migration in dynamic, tidal inlets.
