Daniel K Pearson

Daniel Pearson is the NWIS Modernization Program Manager for the USGS Water Resources Mission Area.

Daniel K. Pearson has been with the U.S. Geological Survey since 2002. In that time he has served as the Texas Water Science Center GIS Specialist, Data and Spatial Studies Section Chief, Geospatial Science + Cyber Innovation (GSCI) Branch Chief, and most recently the National Water Information System (NWIS) Modernization Program Manager. In those roles he has provided technical expertise and guidance to both cooperators and staff, and worked closely with a talented team of developers, geographers and hydrologists whose function was to produce innovative geospatial solutions; perform complex hydrologic and spatial analyses; and contribute to ongoing research within the USGS. Daniel has provided the vision over the last 10 years to transform the GSCI Branch in Austin, TX from a geospatial data production shop to an application development and data management enterprise. In his current role with NWIS Modernization he will provide the necessary improvements to NWIS, the worlds largest authoritative enterprise water information system, which is foundational to advancing USGS Water Mission Area priorities and meeting the needs of USGS and WMA stakeholders.
