Provides executive direction and leadership of the USGS National Geospatial Directorate which includes oversight of the Earth Resources Observation and Science Center (EROS) in Sioux Falls South Dakota with flight systems management at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland and the National Geospatial Technical Operations Center (NGTOC) with locations in Denver, CO and Rolla, MO.

EROS owns and operates the fleet of Landsat Satellites including Landsats 7, 8 and 9 currently in orbit and serves as the national archive of remote sensing imagery of the Earth's land surface by civilian satellites and aircraft.  Branches include the New Missions Branch, Satellite and Ground Systems Operations Branch, Integrated Science and Operations Branch, Data Centers and Systems Branch and the Administrative Branch.  EROS scientists perform research and provide a variety of remote sensing products including Integrated Land Change Monitoring, Wildfire Science, Human Health and Food Security, Climate Dynamics and Landsat Science.

NGTOC provides leadership and world-class technical expertise in the acquisition and management of trusted geospatial data, services, and map products for the Nation. It is responsible for the implementation of national geospatial projects including the 3D Elevation Program (3DEP), the 3D Hydrography Program (3DHP) and a variety of topographic mapping products and services which constitute The National Map.  Geospatial research is conducted by geospatial scientists in the Center of Excellence in Geospatial Information Science (CEGIS).
