Biography

I am a Geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey at the Cascades Volcano Observatory in Vancouver, Washington.  I specialize in volcano hazards assessment and risk research and applications for domestic as well as foreign volcanoes as a member of the Volcano Disaster Assistance Program (VDAP), co-funded by the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Agency for International Development's Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (USAID/OFDA).  I am currently involved in several projects, including: compilation and analysis of a spatial database of Holocene volcanic vents in the western conterminous U.S., field mapping and characterization of Holocene rhyolitic tephras at Medicine Lake volcano in northern California, development of next generation volcano hazard and risk assessments, and co-leading the Bureau risk implementaton team.
