Study in water-resources engineering focused on hydraulics, open-channel flow, sediment yield and transport, urban hydrology, hydrologic design, rainfall-runoff modeling, groundwater flow, statistics, expert-system development, dam design, and flood-damage reduction. Professional Internship Program, Martin Marietta Energy Systems, Inc, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, 1987-88

  • Provided technical support in the Hazardous Waste Remedial Actions Program for development of a cost data base, generation of statements of work for subcontract engineering needs, and evaluation of proposals.

Kennoy Engineers, Inc, Lexington, Kentucky, 1982-85

  • Assisted in preparation of the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government Storm Drainage Master Plan. Responsibilities included watershed hydrologic modeling, problem-area identification, and recommendations for drainage improvements.
