Gilpin Robinson

Gilpin R. Robinson, Jr., PhD; Research geologist in economic geology at the Eastern Mineral and Environmental Resources Science Center in the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Reston, Virginia, USA working on mineral resource assessment and critical mineral resource projects. Currently serving as co-leader of a project to develop data, tools, and methods to advance mineral resource assessment capability at the USGS. Previous work activities include mineral resource assessment studies at global, national, and regional scales, field and laboratory studies of the origin and genesis of metal and industrial mineral deposits, Bayesian spatial analysis and modeling of mineral resources and groundwater contamination hazards, project management and research program development, regional geologic mapping, thermodynamic data analysis, and geochemical modeling.
