Jessica Schulz

Biography

Jessica Schulz is an ecologist at the USGS Wetland and Aquatic Research Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. She currently conducts shorebird monitoring on Louisiana’s barrier islands, with a research focus on the effect of coastal restoration on shorebird populations, habitat use, and invertebrate prey densities. Jessica holds a B.S. in Animal Science with a concentration in Wildlife Biology from the University of Vermont (2006) and a M.S. in Biology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Her Master’s research focused on the ecology of Piping Plovers and their invertebrate prey on the Isles Dernieres Barrier Island Refuge in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana.
