Joe Holomuzki


Dr. Joseph "Joe" Holomuzki joined the Pacific Regional Office in 2019 as a re-employed Biologist through the National Defense Authorization Act.  He is currently working to promote planning and development of important regional and bureau-wide initiatives, such as a Wildland Fire Predictive Science Program.  Joe previously served the USGS, in a management capacity, as the Chief of the Hydro-Ecological Interactions Branch and Manager of the Western Branch of the National Research Program in the USGS Water Mission Area in Menlo Park, CA.  As a researcher, Joe studied community dynamics and resiliency in riverine and wetland ecosystems in New Zealand and the United States.  Prior to joining the USGS, he was a distinguished teacher at Ohio State University.
