Julia Hoeh began work with PIERC in July 2018. Her work focuses on the ecology and conservation of the Hawaiian hoary bat (Lasiurus cinereus semotus). Active research projects involve capturing, tracking and monitoring roosts of the endangered Hawaiian hoary bat to advance understanding of key aspects of bat ecology and population biology across the eastern portion of the Big Island.
