Lindsay Powers, Ph.D.

Dr. Lindsay Powers is a Program Coordinator with the U.S. Geological Survey.

She is responsible for the National Geological and Geophysical Data Preservation Program, and is the Director of the Core Research Center and National Science Foundation Ice Core Facility. She is trained as a biologist, ecologist, and interdisciplinary earth scientist. Her research interests have spanned from the ecology and genetics of aquatic organisms to paleoclimates of tropical regions. She is active in numerous organizations and initiatives working to advance the access and use of earth science samples and data. She serves on the USGS Collections Steering Committee and is actively engaged in advancing USGS scientific collections management.
