Natalie T Nguyen

Biography

Dr. Natalie Nguyen is currently a Project Manager and Veterinary Medical Officer at the U.S. Geological Survey National Wildlife Health Center (NWHC), where she serves as a member of the Leadership Team and leads projects related to wildlife disease, international relations, and communications/outreach. She recently completed the Presidential Management Fellowship, a national leadership development program for advanced-degree candidates. During her fellowship, she completed over 200 hours of leadership and scientific training, led multiple scientific projects and publications, attended and participated in Congressional hearings and briefings on Capitol Hill, and served as Acting Science Support Branch Chief. As part of her fellowship, she also completed a five-month developmental assignment in Honolulu, Hawaii with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as the Special Assistant to the Superintendent of the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument. There she assisted with the deployment of volunteers to the Pacific remote island of Johnston Atoll and created a data management plan for improved research data collection of a tropicbird species. Her past work includes veterinary medicine and husbandry for small animals, zoo/aquarium animals, and wildlife.
