Biography

I am currently serving as the Associate Center Director for Data, FLWSC, since January 2011. From March -October 2009 I served as the Tampa Office Chief.

I was the Tampa Data Chief  from Feb. 2002 -Dec. 2011.  Florida's data program has been very successful and highly thought of with Federal, and local and state cooperators with over 2,000 surface water, ground water, and water quality stations

From 1995-2002 I served as the Las Vegas, NV Networks Unit Chief for the Data Program. While in Las Vegas I managed a Flood ALERT project as well as the basic data program

Prior to working in Nevada I was a Hydrologist in the Ft. Myers, Fl field office. I was a team member on two projects (Bathymetry of Matlacha Pass and Hydro-geologic framework and salinity analysis of the Floridan aguifer system in southwest Florida. I also served as the office Database Program Coordinator.

I began my career with USGS  in Stuart, Fl as a Hydrologic Technican. I served on several projects, including  a RASA study in south Florida, and several geophysical projects. I also was the project chief of the Potentiometric Map Study of the Upper East Coast of South Florida.

Oversee the publication of the Annual Data Report  Duties include administration, personnel management, and technical direction of all personnel assigned to the Data Section. Planning and directing the operation of the hydrologic data networks and managing a budget of over $4 million and a network of over 400 gaging sites. Meet regularly with Federal, State, and local cooperators to plan program activities in the State of Florida. These activities include hurricane and flood preparedness, fiscal budget planning, and program reviews.

 Supervisory Hydrologist , GS Served as the Las Vegas Networks Chief. Duties included acting as liaison between local cooperators and the USGS and managing $1.6 million data program.
I was responsible for leading 5 data projects (including an early warning flood ALERT project and a NASQAN project on the Colorado River) and  directly responsible for quality assuring all data for publication in the annual data report.

 Hydrologist , GS Project team member for the Matlacha Pass bathymetric map study, 1990-92.
In 1993 – 94 I worked on a study which helped to define the hydro-geologic framework and distribution of salinity in the Floridan aquifer system in southwestern Florida.
Served as the Ft. Myers office data base program coordinator, 1994-95.

 Hydrologic Technician , GS 

Provided oversite to RASA drilling operations, collected and analyzed geologic well cuttings and determined lithologic and hydrologic characteristics of geologic formations. Performed aquifer performance tests at well sites. 
Worked on surface geophysical surveys including DC resistivity, EM conductivity, and ground penetrating radar. Field reconnaissance of flowing wells in St. Lucie and Martin counties. Served as project chief for the potentiometric map project of the surficial aquifer system. Collected and computed hydrologic data for publication in the annual data report.
