Robert D Fisher

Biography

I have worked full-time for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service/National Biological Service/USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center in the Division of Mammals, National Museum of Natural History as a Museum Specialist/Collection Manager since 1972.  Throughout the majority of that time, my focus has been on the care and management of the North American collection of mammals, providing specimen identifications, assiting visitors in the use of the collections and associated records, processing loan transactions and information requests, and providing assistance to our research personnel.  In the last few years my focus has been on producing a series of Type Catalogs covering the Division of Mammals Type Specimen collection.
