  • Product Manager for multiple product areas under the flagship site.
  • Develop policies and guidance for USGS social media activies and services.
  • Perform high-level coordination of official USGS social media accounts, account management, and social media activities including coordination for the USGS Instagram, USGS Twitter, USGS Facebook Page, USGS YouTube Channel, and more.
  • Conduct training for USGS social media account managers on best practices, the use of social media at the USGS, and communicating information and updates to USGS social media managers.
  • Member of the DOI Web Council representing bureaus across the Department of the Interior on web policies and strategic direction.
  • Serve and participate in various Government and social media committees and groups (ex: DigitalGov's Social Media Community and Web Content Managers) to support the use and purpose of social media within the Government to increase productivity and encourage a more transparent Government.
  • Writing, interviewing, audio/video editing, and production of various bureau multimedia content including podcasts, training videos/screencasts, etc
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of Internet and Intranet Web sites and content through the use of analytical tools and customer feedback achieving a greater understanding of corporate and agency mission and programs.
  • Gather information and produce informational materials, technical and non-technical concerning policies, programs and activities for dissemination to news media and other publics and obtain feedback on the effectiveness of these materials as a means to enhance and improve science communication.
