Tana is a Geographer for the Oregon Water Science Center in Portland, Oregon. She provides Geographic Information Systems (GIS) support to various projects in the Oregon Water Science Center and other USGS projects outside the center.
Tana started working at the USGS Washington Water Science Center in Tacoma, WA in 1996 as a GIS intern. She continued working in Washington for about 2 years, after which she transferred to the Oregon Water Science Center. Tana specializes in GIS analysis of watersheds, floodplains, and channel migration.
Tana began her federal service at age 18 with a three year tour as an Army Military Police Officer at Schofield Barracks, HI. Later, she worked as an administrative assistant for the Department of the Army at Camp Zama, Japan, and as a human resource assistant for the Department of Defense at Fort Lewis, WA.
Tana holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from Portland State University, an Associate of Arts in Computer Studies from University of Maryland, and a GIS Certificate from Green River Community College.
