Xan Fredericks

Xan works with the National Geospatial Program as the National Map Liaison to Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands and is the Deputy Chair of the Geospatial Information Response Team. 

Alexandra “Xan” Fredericks is the National Map Liaison to Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands for the U.S. Geological Survey National Geospatial Program User Engagement Office and serves as the Deputy Chair of the Geospatial Information Response Team.  She is the Chair of the USGS Lidar User Group and Co-Chair of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) Bathymetry Working Group. Xan works to help people, from USGS scientists and our Nation’s residents to a variety of agencies and entities, discover and coordinate geospatial data through outreach, collaboration, and data visualization.

Xan is a GISCI-certified GIS Professional with an MGIS from Penn State University and a BS in Marine Science-Geology from Eckerd College. She has served on the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) Board of Directors and is a Past President of the ASPRS Florida Region. Prior to her current role, Xan was the Lidar Coordinator for the USGS Coastal and Marine Hazards and Resources Program.
