The Alaska Regional Office has developed an online viewer platform where the public can access interactive map layers to display select marine and terrestrial geospatial features in the Arctic Alaska boundary area as defined by the U.S. Arctic Research and Policy Act.

The Glacier-Climate Connection geonarrative tells the story of the U.S. Geological Survey Benchmark Glacier Project, one of the longest running studies of glaciers on Earth. 

An interactive geonarrative (Esri Story Map) looking at the Barry Arm landslide, located in northwestern Prince William Sound on the northwest side of Barry Arm in Harriman Fjord, Alaska, and about 30 miles (48.3 kilometers) from the coastal town of Whittier. If it were to produce a rockslide, it could pose significant hazards to nearby communities and boat traffic.

The Arctic Rivers Project will weave together Indigenous knowledges, monitoring, and the modeling of climate, rivers (flows, temperature, ice), and fish to improve understanding of how Arctic rivers, ice transportation corridors, fish, and communities might be impacted by and adapt to climate change.

This map shows the provinces assessed by the USGS for undiscovered oil and gas resources. 

This is an interactive version of the Alaska geologic map database which allows a user to view and access many features of the database and map through a standard web browser. In other words, there is no need for or knowledge of specialized GIS software.

The portal is a searchable, web map-based tool to facilitate public and partner access to information on over 200 subjects under USGS study in the Nation's largest State.
