Coastal sedimentary deposits of the Atlantic Coastal Plain of the southeastern U.S. (in yellow), the areas of focus for Heavy-Mineral Sand Resources in the southeastern U.S. project. These sediments are the deposits of shoreline environments that progressed across the southeastern U.S. from the Late Cretaceous period to the present coast.
