The USGS Office of Organizational and Employee Development (OED) serves the educational, informational, training, and development needs of the USGS and other federal agencies. OED provides a wide variety of science and technical, professional, managerial, and administrative development opportunities. Classes are supported at the National Training Center in Denver, Colorado, and other USGS office locations across the nation. We also address the organizational needs of the USGS by providing consulting and coaching. OED Strategic Goals
The primary strategic goals of OED are to enhance the scientific and technical skills of the USGS workforce and foster visionary leadership and management professionalism. This is accomplished through a variety of creative programs, performance support processes, and other cost-effective means. The OED is also a part of the Bureau's Human Capital (HC) Enterprise. The intent of the HC Enterprise is to facilitate, coordinate, and integrate capabilities to best support the people, operations, customers, and programs of the USGS.
