Bathymetry and Water-Quality Data of Surface Water Bodies in Cook County, Illinois, 2025 Bathymetry and Water-Quality Data of Surface Water Bodies in Cook County, Illinois, 2025

In 2025, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in collaboration with the Cook County Bureau of Technology (BOT), carried out comprehensive hydrographic and water-quality surveys, and activity and disturbance assessments of 34 total water bodies within Cook County, Illinois. These surveys and assessments describe the bathymetry, water-quality conditions, and on-site field crew observations...

Watershed Data Management (WDM) Database (SC23.WDM) for Salt Creek Streamflow Simulation, DuPage County, Illinois, January 1, 1997, through September 30, 2023 Watershed Data Management (WDM) Database (SC23.WDM) for Salt Creek Streamflow Simulation, DuPage County, Illinois, January 1, 1997, through September 30, 2023

This data release (DR) is the update of the U.S. Geological Survey - ScienceBase DR (Bera, 2024b), with the processed data for the period October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023. This DR describes the watershed data management (WDM) database file SC23.WDM. The precipitation data are collected from a tipping-bucket rain-gage network and the hydrologic data (stage and discharge) are...

This data release (DR) is the update of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) - ScienceBase (SB) DR Bera (2024b), with the processed data for the period October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023. This SB DR describes the watershed data management (WDM) database WBDR23.WDM. The precipitation data are collected from a tipping-bucket rain-gage network and the hydrologic data (stage and...

Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) results for varying industries, 2021-2022 Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) results for varying industries, 2021-2022

Samples were collected for a comparison method development study with the University of Minnesota and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Water Quality Laboratory (NWQL) in Lakewood, Colorado. Widely used liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) methods fail to capture large fractions of total organofluorine in environmental samples confounding the assessment and...

Data for Regional Analysis of the Dependence of Peak-Flow Quantiles on Climate with Application to Adjustment to Climate Trends Data for Regional Analysis of the Dependence of Peak-Flow Quantiles on Climate with Application to Adjustment to Climate Trends

This data release contains data in support of "Regional Analysis of the Dependence of Peak-Flow Quantiles on Climate with Application to Adjustment to Climate Trends" (Over and others, 2025). It contains input and output data used to analyze the effect of climate changes on trends in floods using three regression approaches. The input consists of two files. The first, "station_list.csv,"...

Digital Representation of Isopach Maps for Selected Sequences of the Cretaceous Published by Reeside (1944) and Other Sources Digital Representation of Isopach Maps for Selected Sequences of the Cretaceous Published by Reeside (1944) and Other Sources

Information of hydrogeologic and geologic importance from the U.S. Geological Survey Oil and Gas Investigations Map 10, "Maps showing thickness and general character of the Cretaceous deposits in the western interior of the United States" (Reeside, 1944) were digitized from scanned maps 1, 2, 9, and 10. Isopach contours were captured and, along with Geologic Map of North America (GMNA)...

Average Annual Loads and Yields of Nitrate and Phosphorus from Illinois Watersheds (HUC8s) for Three Periods between 1997 and 2022 Average Annual Loads and Yields of Nitrate and Phosphorus from Illinois Watersheds (HUC8s) for Three Periods between 1997 and 2022

This data release supports "Diverging trends in nitrate and phosphorus loads and yields across Illinois watersheds, 1997–2022" (Kamrath and others, 2024) and the State of Illinois's Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy (NLRS; Illinois Environmental Protection Agency [IEPA] and others, 2015). This data release contains estimates of incremental nitrate (NO3) and total phosphorus (TP) loads and...

Simulated Nutrient and Sediment Concentrations from Major Rivers in Illinois Based on Continuous Monitoring from October 1, 2015, through September 30, 2023 Simulated Nutrient and Sediment Concentrations from Major Rivers in Illinois Based on Continuous Monitoring from October 1, 2015, through September 30, 2023

During water years 2016–2023 (a water year is the period from October 1 to September 30 and is designated by the year in which it ends), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (Illinois EPA), operated continuous monitoring stations on eight of the major rivers in Illinois to better quantify nutrient and sediment loadings from...

Bathymetry and Velocity Data from Surveys at Highway Bridges crossing the Missouri River in Kansas City, Missouri, August 8–9, 2023 Bathymetry and Velocity Data from Surveys at Highway Bridges crossing the Missouri River in Kansas City, Missouri, August 8–9, 2023

These data are high-resolution bathymetry (riverbed elevation) and depth-averaged velocities in comma-delimited table format, generated from hydrographic and velocimetric surveys near highway bridge structures over the Missouri River in Kansas City, Missouri, on August 8–9, 2023. Hydrographic data were collected using a high-resolution multibeam echosounder mapping system (MBMS), which...
