Tim Raines, Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center Director
Tim Raines, Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center Director

We provide information to managers, scientists, and the general public needed to understand and make informed decisions about water resources in Oklahoma and Texas. This website is your access to a wide variety of USGS water information; including current and historical data, interpretive reports, interactive tools, press releases, photos, videos, and more!  If you manage water resources in Oklahoma or in Texas, or are interested in information about water supplies, or the quantity or quality of our groundwater, reservoirs, and streams, then you have come to the right place.

The Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center is one of a network of USGS water science centers that provide water information across the Nation. The mission of the USGS Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center is to collect high-quality hydrologic data and conduct objective scientific studies on the quantity, quality, and availability and use of surface- and groundwater resources within the states of Oklahoma and Texas.

Our dedicated scientists, technicians, and operational personnel have a collective responsibility to execute our mission and commitment to high professional standards for collection and dissemination of water- and earth-resources data, resource-assessment studies, and related research.  Much of our science is planned and conducted in cooperation with local municipalities, river authorities, groundwater districts, and State and other federal agencies to address specific needs for hydrologic data and interpretations.

The USGS Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center has offices located in Austin, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Ft. Worth, Houston, Lubbock, Oklahoma City, San Angelo, San Antonio, Tulsa, Wichita Falls, and Woodward. These offices are geographically distributed to respond to hydrologic events and to interact with cooperating agencies and organizations throughout Oklahoma and Texas.
