Aerial imagery and Structure-from-Motion products for a UAS survey collected on 05-10-2024, White Slough tidal wetland restoration project, Humboldt Bay, California
This data release presents aerial imagery and structure-from-motion digital products from a UAS survey of the White Slough tidal wetland restoration project, conducted in cooperation with the California State Coastal Conservancy and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service - Humboldt Bay Refuge. The tidal wetland restoration project aimed to restore subsided land to an ecologically functional tidal wetland by applying clean fill, breaching levees, and redirecting creek flow to reestablish tidal connectivity and support marsh vegetation. This project demonstrates nature-based solutions for advancing climate resilience through beneficial sediment reuse and enhanced ecosystem carbon storage. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) used an uncrewed aerial system (UAS) and Post-Processed Kinematic (PPK) Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) to survey the tidal wetland restoration project. This data release includes five datasets (aerial imagery, DSM, orthomosaic, point cloud, and PPK_GNSS) accessible from five separate child items, each with a metadata record to describe the dataset.
