National Programs

• Core Science Systems Mission Area 
  This includes the National Geospatial Program, topographic maps and geospatial data, Landsat and the National Land Imaging Program, and the U.S. Board on Geographic Names.
   
• Ecosystems Mission Area 
  This includes climate science, cooperative fish and wildlife research units, environmental health, wildfire science, land management, species management research, biological threats, and invasive species. 
   
• Geology, Energy, and Minerals Mission Area
  This includes energy resource assessments and critical, rare earth, or other mineral assessments, as well as Earth MRI geological surveys.
   
• Natural Hazards Mission Area 
  This includes coastal and marine geology, programmatic questions about earthquake, landslide, and volcano research and monitoring, geomagnetism research, and the Global Seismographic Network. 
   
• Water Resources Mission Area
  This includes the National Water Quality program, research on water available and use, water data visualizations, and nationwide groundwater and streamflow information tools such as WaterAlert, the National Water Dashboard, the Water Quality Portal, the National Groundwater Monitoring Network Data Portal, MODFLOW, and StreamStats.
