Argon isotope data for volcanic rocks from the Tumalo volcanic center, Oregon

October 29, 2026

40Ar/39Ar data presented in this data release are from the Tumalo volcanic center in central Oregon, which consists of predominantly rhyolitic to dacitic pyroclastic flows, tephra fallout deposits, cinder cones, domes, and lava flows. Data is presented for thirteen volcanic units from the Tumalo volcanic center, including three major ignimbrite eruptions (the Desert Springs Tuff, the Tumalo Tuff, and the Shevlin Park Tuff). These data help constrain the timing of volcanism in the Tumalo volcanic center and its relationship to other quaternary volcanic centers in the region.
