Geochemical and petrographic data for the Eagle Ford Group of the USGS Gulf Coast 3 (GC-3) drill core and the Mowry Shale of the Oil Mountain 1-16 (OM-1-16) drill core

This data release contains geochemical and petrographic data for the Eagle Ford Group in the USGS Gulf Coast #3 (GC-3) core and the Mowry Shale and Frontier Formation in the Nerd Gas Co. Oil Mountain 1-16 (OM-1-16) core. This dataset includes newly generated kerogen elemental chemistry, iron speciation, organic biomarkers, and vitrinite reflectance. This data compliments and is in addition to previous data releases for the Eagle Ford in GC-3 and the Mowry and Frontier in OM-1-16 (French et al., 2022; French et al., 2024; French and Birdwell, 2024). These previous data releases included LECO total carbon and total organic carbon, programmed pyrolysis, whole rock elemental chemistry, X-ray diffraction (XRD) mineralogy, kerogen elemental chemistry, and organic biomarkers.
