September 9, 2026

This data release includes pH, major ion geochemistry (B, Ba, Br, Cl, Ca, Fe, K, Li, Mg, Mn, Na, Si, SO4, Sr), and total dissolved solids data from produced water samples collected from petroleum wells in the Williston Basin, North Dakota. Major ion geochemistry and total dissolved solids were analyzed at the U.S. Geological Survey Brine Research Instrumentation and Experimental laboratory in Reston, Virginia, USA. The data release includes three files, including one metadata file and two comma-separated (CSV) files. These data were collected as part of a research study conducted in partnership with the North Dakota Geological Survey and University of Texas at Austin.
