Results of airflow and temperature monitoring in a commercial cave in Greene County, Missouri, Dec 2016-Nov 2017

November 2, 2018

This dataset includes airflow monitoring data (velocity and direction) and temperature data recorded at several locations in a commercial cave in Greene County, Missouri. These data were collected as part of a larger effort by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to monitor air quality in Missouri commercial caves. The data set includes single-point airflow measurements using an ultrasonic anemometer at five locations within the cave. Airflow measurements using an ultrasonic anemometer and manual check measurements using a handheld hotwire anemometer also were made in a 22-inch diameter vent shaft upcave (further from the entrance) of the commercial tour route. In addition, outside air temperature also was recorded at a location adjacent to the vent shaft.
