Wildlife Pellet and Vegetation Survey Data to Evaluate Outcomes of Wildfire and Post-Fire Restoration Treatments in the Northern Basin and Range Ecoregion, 2008-2009
September 30, 2026
This dataset contains observations used to better understand wildlife and domestic livestock use of wildfire sites 2-15 years post-wildfire with different post-fire restoration treatments (post-fire seeding of native or non-native species). Field data come from 9 wildfire sites in the Northern Basin and Range Ecoregion spanning Idaho and Oregon. Vegetation structure and composition measurements were collected at 222 plots, and wildlife pellet surveys were conducted at these plots. Treatment groups related to wildfire (burned vs. unburned) and post-fire seeding (native seeding, non-native seeding, no seeding) were derived using GIS.
