Halema‘uma‘u Overflow Map...
This map shows recent lava lake overflows within Kīlauea's HALEMAU‘Ama‘u crater. The first large overflow, roughly the same size as the 2015 overflows, which occurred on April 23rd, is shown in pink. The second large overflow, which occurred the morning of April 26th, 2018, is shown in dark pink. Halema‘uma‘u LAVA LAKE (2008-2018) is shown in red. The base map is a partly transparent 1:24,000-scale USGS digital topographic map draped over the 1983 10-m digital elevation model (DEM).
