The Pacific Northwest Federal Interagency Operating Plan for Volcanic Ash Events addresses airborne volcanic ash in the States of Washington, Oregon and Idaho and the adjacent airspace Flight Information Regions (FIRs). The agencies involved in this operating plan are: the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This Plan documents how the three agencies work together during ash events, either from volcanic eruption or resuspension.
