TM16-01 Validation of a Radiometer Analytical 870 Titrator and SAC 950 sample changer for alkalinity and acid-neutralizing capacity measurements

A replacement automated titration instmment, a Radiometer Analytical TIM870 with SAC950 sample changer, was installed in December 2015 at the National Water Quality Laboratory eventually to replace the current titration system, a Radiometer TIM860 with SAC90 sample changer. The existing titrator' s autosampler is obsolete and may not be repairable if it were to fail. The source method, NWQL laboratory codes, and NWIS method and parameter codes will remain the same. A validation study was completed to assess the performance of the replacement instrumentation prior to putting it into production. This report demonstrates equivalence between the existing instrument and its replacement.
