Arthur Nathaniel "Pete" Thorpe

Pete Thorpe was born on April 26, 1933 in Durham, North Carolina. He received his bachelor's degree from Howard University in 1954. He joined the US Air Force in 1954 and was a fighter pilot until 1958. He received his PhD in Physics from Howard University in 1964.He was published extensively with USGS scientist Frank E. Senftle, while at both the USGS and later as a professor at Howard Univerisity. Pete served as USGS scientist at least from 1964 to 1975 based on online publication citations. He was a professor at Howard University util his death in 2015.
