August 25, 2026 — Kīlauea episode 54 volcanic plume from the KPcam

Episode 54 of lava fountaining in Halemaʻumaʻu at the summit of Kīlauea took place for about 9 hours on August 25, 2026. This photograph of the eruptive plume during the episode was taken by the KPcam, located on the south flank of Mauna Loa in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park. USGS webcam image.
