Detailed Description

View looking west from the Spider Rock Overlook down Canyon de Chelly. The canyon is about 800 feet deep. The low ridge along the horizon (barely visible) is Black Mesa, another upland plateau capped by Late Cretaceous age, Mesaverde Sandstone.
