Capitol Reef - outcrops of dipping Cretaceous-age sandstone
Detailed Description
Outcrops of dipping Cretaceous-age sandstone stand out as weathering-resistant ledges in contrast to the softer, faster-weathering, Cretaceous-age marine shale layers that underlie the flats and lower slopes. This view is looking north along the Notom-Bullfrog Road.
